About Up End This

Up End This is pioneering affordable housing solutions in Vermont through innovative modular design and construction. The company's flagship product, the Satellite Base Station 480, is a full-scale, one-bedroom micro-home designed to efficiently utilize space while maintaining comfort and sustainability.

Founded by Michael Zebrowski, Up End This addresses Vermont's critical housing shortage by creating homes that can be manufactured efficiently and deployed quickly using sustainable building materials. The modular approach reduces construction costs, waste and timelines while maintaining high quality standards.

The Flex Fund has provided loans totaling $500,000 and participated (sold) $200,000 to CDFI partner NH Community Loan Fund. Our capital supported Up End This through various stages of development, including surviving the challenges of both a pandemic and Vermont's devastating 2023 floods. The financing was paired with business coaching from the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund, funded by the SBA Community Navigator Pilot Program.

We wouldn’t be here without Janice and the others. We just wouldn’t have survived. First, without the funding we would never have gotten to where we are. And the day after the flood, we had a ten person call with the Flex Fund, our VSJF coaches, the Vermont Community Loan Fund. It was insane. To have that support, compassion, and wisdom in the moment, you know…without that we just would not be here.
